Jennifer Chapman Arnold is currently serving as a Law Clerk to Magistrate Judge Mitchell D. Dembin in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. In that capacity, she assists Judge Dembin in handling civil matters ranging from civil rights complaints and habeas corpus petitions to business and intellectual property disputes to consumer class actions.

 

Prior to her clerkship, Jennifer practiced as an attorney at a boutique civil litigation firm from 2007 to 2014. In that time, she handled business, employment, class action, professional responsibility, and personal injury matters in state and federal court from client intake through discovery, dispositive motions, trial, appeal, and debt collection. Mrs. Arnold’s efforts resulted in a rare grant of a writ of mandamus and published decision in her client’s favor on a novel issue of civil procedure in Orion Commc'ns, Inc. v. Superior Court, 226 Cal. App. 4th 152, 155 (2014).

 

Before becoming a civil litigator, Mrs. Arnold served as extern to Magistrate Judge William McCurine, Jr. in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.

 

Mrs. Arnold is currently a member of the Federal Bar Association, the Louis M. Welsh American Inn of Court, and the Lawyers Club of San Diego.
