Thomas Jefferson School of Law has one of the most professional law school facilities in the nation. The Gold LEED certified building (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) was built to enhance the student experience while using environmentally sustainable construction. Spacious stadium-seating classrooms, a state-of-the-art moot courtroom, easy access to faculty and administrative services and three levels of underground parking are just a few of the facility's many attributes.
The eight-story building is located in the heart of downtown San Diego’s eclectic East Village and is topped by a distinctive chevron roof. The school is located just a few blocks from Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres baseball club. San Diego’s iconic domed Central Library, opened in 2014, is just a block away and students can walk to the historic Gaslamp Quarter, known for its vibrant nightlight.
The law school is ultra-modern, technologically cutting-edge and features "smart classrooms.” To take advantage of San Diego’s mild and sunny weather, outdoor terraces are strategically located for relaxing or studying. The library encompasses two floors and has plenty of room for studying. Part of the bottom floor is home to a thriving legal clinic, where students are encouraged to work to gain valuable hands-on experience and school credit.
The campus is within walking distance of the federal and state courthouses and multiple law firms. It is a one block away from the Entrada, the 172-unit apartment complex the school has available for Thomas Jefferson School of Law students. The fine-dining restaurant Bottega Americano is located in the building and has a marketplace for quick eats.
