Our Commitment to Diversity

Diversity is the lifeblood of our law school. It isn’t an option; it’s an on-going commitment that comes from our core values.

We are ranked by U.S. News & World Report in 2011 as the 33rd most diverse law school in the nation, based on the demographics of the student body.

Thomas Jefferson is committed to helping diversify the profession through its admission practices and in the creation of an environment for faculty, staff and students that is inclusive and supportive of a diverse community.

In 2006, 2008 and 2011, Thomas Jefferson School of Law hosted the Council for Legal Education Opportunity (CLEO) Summer Institute. CLEO is an American Bar Association-affiliated organization that supports diversity in legal education.
